1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to the Courup School website and, where applicable, our learning platform. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must read and accept these terms on your behalf.

Enrollment is governed by a separate enrollment agreement. Where these terms and a signed enrollment agreement conflict, the enrollment agreement prevails.

2. Who we are

Courup School is an online American high school serving grades 9–12. The school is operated by Courup School LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of California, and these terms are entered into with that entity. Our registered address is stated in full in the enrollment agreement each family signs and is available on request. Contact: admission@courup.com.

3. Using this website

You may browse this site and use it to inquire about admission. You may not:

• Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these terms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, platform, or accounts
• Interfere with the operation of the site, including by introducing malicious code
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically extract content or contact information
• Misrepresent your identity or your relationship to a student

4. Accounts and platform access

Enrolled students and their families receive accounts on our learning platform. You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for activity that occurs under your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold, or transferred. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, for conduct that threatens the safety of the school community, or as set out in the enrollment agreement.

5. Academic integrity

Work submitted on the platform must be the student's own, produced in accordance with the assignment's stated rules on collaboration and on the use of sources and tools, including artificial intelligence. Misrepresenting the origin of submitted work is a breach of these terms and is handled under the school's academic integrity policy, which may result in a failing grade or, in serious cases, dismissal.

6. Live seminars and recordings

Live seminars are recorded so students may review them or catch up after an absence. By participating, students and families acknowledge that a student's voice, image, name, and contributions may be captured in a recording.

• Recordings are made available only to students enrolled in that section, their families, and school staff
• Students and families may not download, copy, republish, or share recordings outside the school
• Students may not record, screenshot, or transmit any part of a seminar without the instructor's written permission
• Retention of recordings is described in our Privacy Policy

7. Course materials and intellectual property

Course materials, curriculum documents, assessments, recordings, the Courup name and logo, and the content of this website are owned by Courup School or licensed to us. They are provided for the personal educational use of enrolled students only. You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, or create derivative works from them without our written permission.

Students keep ownership of the original work they create. By submitting work, students grant Courup a limited licence to store, assess, and retain it for academic and record-keeping purposes. We will ask for separate permission before using student work publicly — in a showcase, publication, or marketing material.

8. Tuition, fees, and refunds

Tuition and fees are published on the Admission page and are payable as set out in the enrollment agreement. The application fee is non-refundable. Refunds are pro-rated on a declining schedule — 100% before a semester begins, 75% in weeks 1–2, 50% in weeks 3–6, 25% in weeks 7–10, and none after week 10 — with the spring portion refunded in full where a family paid annually and withdraws during the fall. The complete terms, including payment methods, discounts, and late payment, are set out in our Payment Policy, which forms part of the enrollment agreement.

9. Accuracy of information on this site

We work to keep this website accurate, but course listings, calendars, faculty, tuition, and program details may change. Nothing on this website constitutes a binding offer of admission, a guarantee of a place, or a guarantee of any particular academic or university admission outcome. Statements about accreditation reflect our status at the time of publication; our current status is described on the About page.

10. Third-party links and services

This site and our platform may link to or rely on third-party services. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Courup School is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of this website. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded it is limited, to the extent permitted, to the tuition paid by the family in the academic year in which the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory right held by consumers in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction whose consumer law applies to a family.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. We ask that any dispute first be raised with us directly at admission@courup.com, so that most matters can be resolved without formal proceedings. Disputes that cannot be resolved that way will be brought before the state or federal courts located in California, and both parties submit to their jurisdiction.

This choice of law and venue does not deprive a family of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules in their country of residence, and does not prevent a family from bringing proceedings in their local courts where the law of that country gives them that right.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and enrolled families will be notified by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
