Eight-student seminars
A hard cap, not a target, and a 1:6 student-to-teacher ratio overall. Every student speaks in every class, and every piece of work is read by the teacher who assigned it.
Self-paced and live
Independent reading and research at your own pace, then live seminars where you bring your questions to specialists and instructors. Sections run across three time-zone bands, with recordings and flexible deadlines to accommodate competitions, performances, and travel.
A genuinely global cohort
US and international students sit in the same seminar, and discussion benefits from classmates who have lived the other side of the topic.
Counseling from year one
College counseling starts with course planning and interest mapping — years of runway, not four months.
The Courup Project
Our optional honors track, designed around the College Board's AP Capstone program. Students pursue a mentored investigation of their own choosing, building toward the AP Seminar and AP Research sequence.
Four people and one system
Instructors, specialists, an academic advisor, and a wellbeing counselor — plus a platform that flags a student slipping or surging before anyone has to ask.
Class size
Eight students per seminar means participation is unavoidable and feedback is specific. A class of thirty makes both structurally difficult, however good the teacher.
Scheduling
Your training block, rehearsal, or family relocation is a scheduling input at Courup. In a fixed bell schedule it usually becomes an absence.
Course availability
Our catalog is limited by what we choose to teach, not by which specialists happen to live near a campus.
Who teaches you
Every one of our faculty holds a master's degree or higher, and our specialists are working practitioners in fields like artificial intelligence and data science. We recruit internationally rather than within one commuting radius.
Many local high schools are excellent, and for students who thrive on daily in-person community, campus life offers something we do not try to replicate.
A school, not a course bundle
Courup delivers a full four-year American high school program with a coherent sequence — not isolated exam preparation sold by the unit.
Real credentials
Students earn an official transcript and, on completion, a US high school diploma. A tutoring certificate is not a credential universities evaluate.
Teachers, not coaches
Our faculty design and teach the course, set the assessments, and grade every piece of work themselves — they are accountable for the learning, not just the score.
Whole-student support
Advising, wellbeing counseling, character education, and the honors project track sit alongside the academics rather than being someone else's problem.
Stay where you are
International students earn an American high school diploma without relocating, boarding, or paying to live near a campus.
American curriculum, directly
Courses follow US high school conventions and the University of California A–G framework — the format US admissions offices read most fluently.

Every seminar, assignment, and advising session runs in English, with dedicated academic writing support built into the program at every grade level.
Mixed cohort

A scheduled conversation with your academic advisor reviewing your workload, upcoming deadlines, and anything that has started to slip.
A platform that watches both ways
Missed sessions and late work trigger a human follow-up within days. When a student is pulling ahead, the platform flags that too, so the answer is a harder course rather than a quiet plateau.
Open office hours
Every instructor holds weekly drop-in hours in at least two time-zone-friendly slots.
Termly written reports
Families receive a specific written narrative from each teacher, not a letter grade and a stock comment.
